Is DataEngUtils free?
18 of the 35 tools are free in the browser, with no account. A one-time Personal ($39) or Team ($149) licence unlocks the full Parquet and Avro workbench.
How do I unlock the Pro tools?
Buy a licence and paste the key from your purchase email in the app: Settings → License → Activate. The key is verified locally, so activation works offline.
Does the licence work offline?
Yes. The licence is an Ed25519-signed key verified in your browser with Web Crypto. There is no server check and no account, so it works with your network off.
What is your refund policy?
30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. Request a refund through our payment provider or support.
What is the difference between Personal and Team?
Personal covers 1 seat and Team covers 5 seats. Both unlock all tools, including the full Parquet and Avro workbench, with a perpetual licence.
Privacy & security
Does DataEngUtils upload my files?
No. The app has no backend. Files are read in your browser by a WebAssembly engine and never sent anywhere. The app ships a strict Content-Security-Policy (connect-src 'self') that only allows requests to its own origin.
How does it read Parquet and Avro without a server?
A Rust engine (Apache Arrow and Apache Avro) compiled to WebAssembly runs locally in a Web Worker, so the file is parsed on your machine and the page stays responsive.
Is my Parquet or CSV data uploaded during conversion?
Never. File tools process data entirely on your device. You can turn off your Wi-Fi and they still work.

Which browsers are supported?
Chrome 137+ and Firefox 129+, which provide the WebAssembly and Web Crypto features the engine needs. We do not claim Safari support.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Install DataEngUtils as an app (PWA) and it runs with no network at all after the first load — no account, no telemetry, no font or CDN calls.
Does it run on Windows and Linux?
Yes. DataEngUtils is a browser app, so it runs anywhere a supported browser runs — Windows, macOS and Linux alike.
What is the largest file I can open?
You will see a warning above 512 MB and files over 1.5 GB are refused, since the file is loaded into memory. For very large files, use a local Spark or Polars job.
License management
I lost my license key. How do I get it back?
Use the Restore License page and enter the email you used at checkout. You can request a resend up to 3 times per hour.
Can I use my license on more than one machine?
Personal licences cover 1 seat and Team licences cover 5 seats. Because the key is not machine-bound, you simply use it in your browser on the machines your licence covers.
