About DataEngUtils
Data-engineering tools that run in your browser, on your machine, with nothing uploaded.
Last updated 23 October 2026
Data engineers spend their day opening Parquet files, checking schemas, formatting SQL, validating dbt YAML and converting CSVs. The usual tool for each job is a website that uploads the file to someone else’s server — which is a compliance problem the moment the data is real.
DataEngUtils is the alternative: a set of 35 tools that run client-side in the browser. Text tools are plain JavaScript; Parquet and Avro tools run on a Rust engine (Apache Arrow) compiled to WebAssembly inside a Web Worker. Your file is read from disk by your browser and never sent anywhere.
How we are funded
18 tools are free with no account. The rest are part of a one-time Personal ($39) or Team ($149) licence. There is no subscription, no seat telemetry and no upsell inside the free tier.
What we do not do
- We do not upload, store or process your data files.
- We do not require an account to use the tools.
- We do not sell data or run ad networks.
